The challenge

You already know your kids are learning. The hard part is pulling it all together when someone asks.

Reading Eggs here, Khan Academy there, notebooks on the table, photos on your phone—and suddenly a Ministry of Education report is due.

You’re raising kids, running a home and often working too. Logging needs to fit into real life, not become another full-time job.

Built for you

Purpose-built for families who learn outside the classroom.

Multi-child support

Manage all your children in one place. Different ages, different learning styles—one simple dashboard.

Real-life and digital learning

Log everything from Khan Academy to kitchen experiments and farm chores. Orbia World recognises that learning happens everywhere, not just at a desk.

Ready-to-share exports

When the Ministry of Education asks for records, you’ll already have them: clear, organised and ready to share.

How it works

When we launch, using Orbia World will be as easy as 1...2...3
These images are illustrative mockups only—final screens may look different as the app is still in active development.

Register

Create your Orbia World parent account with just your name and email address. This becomes your private space where you’ll manage all your children’s learning logs and reports.

Next, set up your first child by adding their name and date of birth. This helps Orbia World keep each child’s learning journey separate, so their logs and reports stay organised and easy to find.

Log progress

Send a quick WhatsApp message (and optional photo) about what your child did.

Orbia World tags it by child, date, and learning area and saves it automatically — ready to drop into MOE-friendly reports later.

Everything you log belongs to your family. You can export your data anytime (for your own backups, MOE requests, or moving elsewhere), and you can request deletion when you’re done. Privacy is our top priority; we won’t sell your learning data.

If you choose to send logs via WhatsApp, those messages are also processed by WhatsApp/Meta — you can always use our in-app/web options instead.

Create report

About this sample
This is a full, detailed example of one possible progress report for a 10-year-old home educated child in New Zealand.

It is deliberately on the longer side to show how different pieces can fit together (goals, regularity, learning areas, and evidence). Your own reports do not have to look exactly like this – they can be shorter, more visual, or tailored to your family’s style. Orbia World will help you pull your own logs into a format that suits you and meets MOE expectations.

Built for the world beyond the classroom

We’re starting with New Zealand families. Over time, Orbia World will grow to support worldschoolers and families in other countries navigating their own requirements.

FAQ

Questions about Orbia World, compliance, and how it all works.

Orbia World is designed to help you meet New Zealand Ministry of Education home education reporting requirements. We follow the current publicly available guidelines for home educators and export your logs in a format that aligns with those expectations.

Orbia World is not an official Ministry of Education product or partner.

Right now (pre-launch), we collect:

  • Newsletter: your email address (so we can send Orbia World updates and early access invites).

  • Founding Families: your first name, last name, and email address.

  • Site basics: limited technical data (e.g., analytics and server logs) to keep the site secure and understand how it’s used.

Once the app launches, learning data will be stored securely using industry-standard protections (including encryption and access controls). You’ll be able to manage sharing and visibility within your Orbia account. If you choose to submit learning logs via WhatsApp, that content is also processed by WhatsApp/Meta.
For details, see our Privacy Policy.

We’ll never sell your data, and we’ll follow New Zealand privacy law.
